Industry Training Providers Association (ITPA) welcomes the release of the 2024 Strategic Review of the Australian Apprenticeship Incentive System by Dr Iain Ross AO FASSA and Ms Lisa Paul AO PSM. This comprehensive review highlights the critical importance of skilled workers within Australia’s rapidly transforming economy and the need to better align governments incentive to support high-quality apprenticeships.
ITPA supports the focus on quality training providers and group training organisations to not only enable increased commencements but critically drive higher completion rates, especially within South Australia’s SME Sector. ITPA members represent quality and excellence within the non-government training and employment sector and support the recommendations to leverage this success to further develop the broader apprenticeship system.
Apprenticeships offer a pathway into an exciting career and further post school studies. ITPA supports and acknowledges the current Australian and South Australian government incentives available to Apprentices within specific industry sectors and welcomes the recommendation that these be broadened along with the recommendations to help lift awareness and accessibility of Apprenticeship pathways as a key enabler of improved social equity and increased workforce skill.
ITPA remains available to support government in any further reviews within this sector.
